ERROR: Could read setup file
Getting this error recently for anything I try to build an install package for. I thought it was the fact I switched over to BoxDrive from BoxSync so the files aren't really 'there' until you access them the first time. I copied the files locally though, move everything to folder that don't need adm...

Re: Help setting up Visual Update Express
Some more information would help here. How are you setting it up? Using a local web server with IIS or hosted by a third party? Either way should basically be the same. Here's how mine looks within InstallForge itself: http://oldnesjunkie.duckdns.org/images/IFhelp/IFVisualUpdate.png Here's my folder...

Re: Setup Error! Could not read setup package!
Related to this: If you have your Install Forge created setup file on a mapped network drive or access it from the UNC path you get the above error as well.

Re: How to use Visual Update Express?
It's not really recommended to use a cloud based service like One-Drive, Box, etc as the link does change every time with most of those rendering the updater useless. You would want to have your own website to use with it normally, that way the link always stays the same.

Re: Visual Update Express Bug??
Hello, you will have to add a blackslash to your path definition, e.g. DownloadFile:WebLinks.txt, DB\ I have noticed that the Visual Update Express Manual is missing this information. We will update the manual soon. OK, it works, forgot to restart my IIS instance after changing the update script......

Visual Update Express Bug??
Maybe it's something I'm doing again, but when the application updates, the files that are supposed to be in a sub-directory are created in the main directory with the sub-directory name appended to the front of the filename. For Example C:\Carlex\Carlex-apps |->Carlex-Apps.exe C:\Carlex\Carlex-Apps...

Re: VisualUpdate Error
Crap!!! It turns out the updating issue was my own fault.... In the Program File box for Visual Express I had typed in <installpath>\carlex-apps.exe instead of just carlex-apps.exe so it was invalid and couldn't close the application process. The reason it worked is because I used an earlier install...

Re: VisualUpdate Error
Not sure, but I don't believe that's the case as I have it close all open programs before trying to update. As a side note, I updated to Windows 10 Build 1803 yesterday, tried the update today and it worked without issue, so I assume it was a glitch/bug in Windows 10 Build 1709......freaking Microso...

Re: VisualUpdate Error
As an update, tested it out on a Windows 7 box and had no issues updating, seems it's a Windows 10 issue of some sort....

VisualUpdate Error
Hello, I have my Visual Update script setup as below, it finds the updates, sees the updates and update size, but fails to download the updates. Not sure what is wrong. Capture.PNG Capture2.PNG The web server is Server 2012 R2 running IIS 8, anonymous authentication is on, I had to add MIME types fo...
