this issue happens due to the rcedit tool from the GitHub developers which InstallForge is using to update the setup executable resources (version information, icon, manifest). We are looking for a solution.

Any further report is much appreciated.

concerning issue 1):

No, that is not possible. End-users should always be able to choose whether they want the setup to create desktop shortcuts. This is a design-decision.

2) Not in the recent release. But we are planning to add this feature.

Please be aware of the fact that both our software and our support is completely for free. Thus, we can not provide 24/7 support.

the answer to that question was posted by vinayakm. It is special task which is the reason why it is not explained in the InstallForge documentation.
