I've made a couple of applications and updated them a few times in the past 6 months. I've always used the updater provided by InstallForge and this worked great.
However, I've just bought a new laptop and discovered that the updater does not work on Windows 11.
I get the revered "Connection to the update server could not be established" notification.
I've used ProcMon to determine if there was something going wrong with the connection, but I found that the application does not even get to the actual network calls, but fails internally before being able to make calls.
To test, I've set up a Windows 10 virtual machine on this new laptop and saw that the updater works flawlessly there.
Does Visual Update Express not support Windows 11?
I really don't want to get into making a custom updater...
